About Claire

Originally from Bainbridge Island, Washington, Claire Tyers is a New York City based Actor and Shakespeare Coach.  She received her MFA in Acting from The New School For Drama where she was granted the Bob Hope Award for Comedy. She studied Classical Theatre and SHAKESPEARE at The British American Drama Academy in London. With 15 years experience performing Shakespeare, she now teaches and coaches Actors, refining their approach and performance of Shakespeare and his “words, words, words.”

TV / FILM:

Recurring role as June in HBO Max’s SEARCH PARTY, opposite her twin sister, Actor/Comedian, PHOEBE TYERS, as APRIL. THEATRE:

Claire has Directed 3 Shakespeare plays with STAG & LION THEATRE CO. on West 57th Street. She has developed and performed 3 SOLO Shakespeare plays on Theatre Row and off off Bway. SHREW, solo adaptation The Taming Of The Shrew, directed by Noa Egozi, in the United Solo Festival on Theatre Row where she received Award for Actor. O HAPPY DAGGER, her solo Romeo & Juliet, in the New York New Works Theatre Festival and was extended. ERROR: A COMEDY OF, a solo Augmented Reality performance of The Comedy OF Errors using face-syncing technology, produced by Techondramatists, directed by Noa Egozi. Her favorite being POOR YORICK, her five minute piecing of HAMLET which she was asked to perform at the THE PLAYERS CLUB in Gramercy for a Playwrights Horizons event. Other SHAKESPEARE performances include, HERMIA in A Midsummer Night's Dream for W.H.A.T. in Cape Cod, Othello's DESDEMONA and Taming's KATERINA for the New York based Theatre Company, MATCH:LIT.  Not to mention a long list of roles performed with STAG & LION THEATRE.
